Technology Leader · Kuala Lumpur
Irfan Suleman
I build the teams and operating models that turn technology into revenue.
For twenty years that has run across the whole life of a company: a Singapore startup I took to acquisition, a fintech built from zero to product-market fit, B2B commerce scaled to $100M at DKSH, retail digital banking run across 31 markets at Standard Chartered. Startups, scale-ups, and enterprises break in different places; the discipline that fixes them is the same.
Now at Mindvalley I am leading an engineering team through its shift to AI-native, changing how the work actually gets done, not just handing everyone a new tool. We shipped an app Apple featured along the way. What holds me is the question underneath it all: when machines can do more of the building, what happens to the people, and how do you lead a team into that?
I'm based in Kuala Lumpur and work with growth companies globally. I build, I test what I get wrong, and I go looking for the next hard problem.

How the work actually moves: delivery systems, cadence, and the way decisions get made.
The people system around delivery, structured to ship fast without losing the plot.
The thing that ships and earns, from acquisition to payments to platform.
Leaders and engineers who keep compounding long after the engagement ends.
“Technology is only valuable when it changes what a business can do.”
The operating principle behind every engagement.

AI-native transformation across acquisition, payments, and platform. Shipped an Apple-featured app and built WhiteField as the team's engineering operating model.

Digital experience for financial services and healthcare clients across APAC: product strategy, platform design, and engineering capability.

Took B2B digital commerce to $100M, a 5x increase, and shipped a WhatsApp ordering bot for pharmacy buyers two years before ChatGPT made it obvious.

Ran web and acquisition across 31 markets: consumer digital banking product, architecture, and cross-market delivery.

CTO for a Singapore e-commerce (mums.sg) and a fintech (iPayMy). Built iPayMy from MVP to product-market fit and left once its first funding round closed; it is still in market today. Took mums.sg to an acquisition by JD.com's Indonesia arm. Rebuilt both from monolith to cloud microservices.
ipaymy.com
Led a cloud transformation for Malaysia Airlines: moved the national carrier off its in-house data centers onto AWS and rebuilt the booking engine and in-flight ordering from the ground up. Also drove digital delivery for Aviva Insurance and Fiat Chrysler.
The operating model, made repeatable
WhiteField is the framework I built leading a full AI-native engineering transformation. It takes a team from a brownfield codebase to AI-native capability, across four maturity levels and six dimensions. It is the basis of my engagements and the free assessment.
